About us

Both singers and musicians, Pascale and Guy have met each other through their art and have developped a solid musical bond and friendship marked by many surpising coïncidences that have reinforced their connection.

Synchronicity has always been a big part of this adventure.  One day, they found out they were bothwriting and offering personnalized songs to their loved ones on their birthdays or other special events, and that they were both really getting a big kick out of making them and watching people’s reaction.  Putting two two together they decided to put their musical talents and their pleasure  in songwriting to the use of other people so that everybody could offer personalized songs to their loved ones. And so Folifola was born.

Why the name Folifola ? It is joyful, playful, a bit excentric and it means musician in the Bambara Language, spoken in Mali.  And it souded just right to discribe the crazy adventure in which they are going in full voices !

Pascale Séguin

Passionate about music and singing since she was young  Pascale has studied jazz and pop singing , theater and psychology at the Universiry of Montreal . She has directed  and founded several theater  and singing groups,  in High schools,  contests, The University of Montreal and has had her own theater company for a few years.

She has been singing jazz in duos, trios, quartets, full bands .

She was on tour  as a lead singer around the world with the disco band Boogie Wonder Band  for 9 years with whom she also wrote arranged, choreographed, etc…

She also teaches singing from home and at The University of Montreal where she is also the director of the pop singing troup for students.

Still always working seriously on her voice she  studies regularly singing with different teachers in different style from jazz to opera.
